FAQ’s By Models
How can I join Model Machine’s team?
We’re always looking for top-flight modeling talent. If you’re interested in applying please click here and follow our step-by-step instructions. At this time we do not have a registration process. We hand only put approved models on the website based on Client demand. If you apply and we think there is a good fit we will contact you for more information. Please do not call the office to follow up on your application.
Are there any age requirements?
Model Machine has a strict 18 and over policy. Before being interviewed, all applicants must provide valid identification to ensure they are of legal age. We do not interview or employ minors, period.
Do I need to have previous modeling experience?
Not necessarily. Although experience is always a plus, Model Machine is willing to hire applicants who meet our standards for beauty, personality, and professionalism.
Do I have to pay any sort of membership fee?
No. Once selected, you never have to pay dues to stay a member of the Model Machine team.
Will Model Machine ever share my personal information?
Never. Not even with a client, other than what is necessary to book you for a job.
If selected, will I be allowed to work with any other staffing agencies?
Yes. Once selected, you will sign an independent contractor agreement which permits you to work with other companies.
What paperwork must I fill out?
In order to get paid, all models must complete an IRS W-9 form before working their first job. It can be done online via electronic signature in a matter of minutes.
How am I paid?
Through check or direct deposit, in the days following the event. If you ever have any questions about the status of a payment, never hesitate to ask.
How do you decide which models get hired for specific events?
In the end, it’s up to the client. We present them with a list of candidates who we feel will best suit their needs, based on location, talents, and past experience. The client always makes the final selection.
How will I be notified about events I’ve been hired for?
Either by phone or email. Please make sure that your contact information is always current. If a client selects you for a job but you do not respond, you will be considered inactive until further notice.
I was selected to join the Model Machine team, but have not been contacted yet. Why?
Many clients have very specific requirements for their models. For any given job, a client may be considering anywhere between 10 and 50 models.
How can I improve my standing as a Model Machine model?
First: Show up early. Many of our events are large and hectic, so it’s best to give yourself at least fifteen minutes to meet the client and get everything in order.
Second: Show up prepared. Review all the information provided by the client and come ready to speak knowledgeably about the brand.
Third: Be professional. Remember that on the day of the event, you work for the client, so act accordingly.
Finally: Be friendly, both to the client and customers. There’s no better way to stand out than by connecting with individuals, one person at a time.
What is my performance ranking and how is it determined?
At Model Machine, we track the performance of all our models. The rank is determined by a number of factors, including positive client feedback, willingness to be on-call, punctuality, and outstanding performance. The higher the rank, the higher likelihood of getting booked.
Will I be required to travel?
If a client requests you for a job in another city, travel and hotel accommodations will be provided for you.
Am I allowed to update my model profile?
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage all of our models to post new pictures, skills, and contact information as regularly as possible.
What kind of photos can I include on my profile?
All photos must adhere to the following standards:
· Must be in .jpg or .gif format
· Must be recent, within the last 6 months
· Must have at least on clear head shot and one clear body shot
· Must be individual shots, not part of a collage
· Must not exceed 1 MB per image
· Must not contain watermarks, logos, or any other marks
· Must be tasteful and not include nude, mostly nude, or overly suggestive
What if I have to cancel?
In the event of an emergency only please contact your booking agent immediately so they can find a suitable replacement. If you cancel less than 72 hours before the event, you may be subject to a $50 fee, and a demerit to your performance rating. Of course, exceptions are made for serious emergencies.
What if I have a problem with a client?
Contact Model Machine immediately and let us handle it. We will investigate any incident and will work towards a fair solution.
